Team Army/Team Ethos Impact Report 2021

Team Army/Team Ethos are committed to improving mental and physical wellbeing in the armed forces and we are proud to announce our latest Impact Report which covers activity up to November 2021. Throughout this time we have supported a diverse portfolio of armed forces sports organisations and individuals on expeditions, challenges and adventurous training. This achievement is all the more remarkable during a period of severe restrictions to sport and travel caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Our Impact Report illustrates what we have done to deliver positive social value on behalf of our sponsors and donors. Of particular note, is the support provided to veterans who have been through a life changing injury, illness or trauma. We have supported activities that have helped to rebuild lives by providing the inspirational goals that help them move beyond their disability, regain confidence and self-esteem and recapture their zest for life.

CEO, Major General Lamont Kirkland said: “I am delighted to share and publicise our first ever Impact Report which records the variety of good causes we support and the positive effect such grants help enable. Our huge thanks goes to all our sponsors and donors for their investment in our programme which allows our trustees to deliver positive social value on your behalf.”

Recent feedback shows how critical our support is to improving wellbeing and recovery.

“Thank you for the grant … many of our WIS personnel struggled over recent months both physically and mentally as a result of the COVID restrictions. The team bonding and opportunity to be with like-minded people on the expedition were a great support to them.”

I am just so thankful that you put these events on for me to attend. It’s really helped me to live again.”

“The whole expedition went really well. I hope it encourages others dealing with physical and mental injuries to follow their dreams and realise there is life beyond injury.”

Our Mission is to promote excellence and help the forces’ sporting talent to succeed by supporting grassroots activity, as well as encouraging and assisting our elite athletes to compete at the highest level. We also support those who are recovering from wounds or illness to take part in events which help them move beyond their disability, regain confidence and recapture their zest for life. Since we started in 2011 the trustees have donated over £9m to this cause and we have an ongoing and exciting programme of support planned for the future.
